How to Use

Ingredients
Regenerative Tallow® (suet) from certified regeneratively raised Northern California cattle, organic pastured leaf lard, organic marigold CO2 extract (Calendula), organic Peruvian raw fair-trade cacao butter (Theobroma cacao), and Séka Hills extra-virgin olive oil.
Our regeneratively raised, grass-grazed, and finished beef suet tallow is slowly rendered into a deeply nourishing balm, superior in purity and quality.
Suet tallow is naturally a wax-like fat that requires a sustainable carrier oil to achieve a smooth, spreadable texture.
We honor traditional methods, never whipping, adding water, or overheating our formulations. Each jar is hand-poured into sterilized containers to preserve the integrity of our ingredients.
Application Instructions:
Scoop & Warm – Using clean, dry fingers, scoop out a nickel- to quarter-sized amount of balm.
Emulsify – Place the tallow in the palm of your hand and gently warm it with slow movements, allowing it to soften and melt.
Apply – Pat or massage onto a clean face or any area of the body in need of deep hydration and nourishment.
Texture & Seasonal Adaptation:
Tallow naturally adapts to its environment:
Cooler temperatures – It may become firmer. If needed, place the jar in a warm water bath or bring it into the shower to soften.
Warmer temperatures – It may become softer. If exposed to extreme heat, you may refrigerate it to maintain a firmer consistency. If it fully melts, simply remove the lid and let it re-solidify in the fridge.

Returns Return Policy
At Summer Solace Tallow, we take great pride in our handcrafted, perishable products and strive for your complete satisfaction. Due to the unique nature of our organic and seasonal ingredients, all sales are final and not eligible for returns.
However, if your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within five (5) days of receipt at hello@summersolacetallow.com with the following details:

- A detailed description of the issue
- Photos of the item(s) in question (if applicable)
Our team will review your request and work to find an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement or store credit.
Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable and that returns will only be considered in extenuating circumstances at our discretion.
If a return is approved, a 20% fee will apply, with the remaining balance issued as store credit. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Gift cards are non-refundable.

Reliable Delivery with UPS
To ensure dependable delivery, we have partnered with UPS as our preferred shipping carrier, offering reliable service at our standard shipping rate. Additionally, we offer free shipping on domestic orders over $175 within the United States.
Alaska, Hawaii, PO Boxes, and Rural Areas, please email us for USPS Shipping.
Processing Time
Orders are typically processed within 4-6 business days.
We ship orders Tuesday through Friday.
Orders placed after 1 PM PST on Friday will be processed the following Tuesday.
Orders are not processed or shipped on weekends or holidays.
Shipping and Delivery Times

Place your tallow balm in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight.
Why do you not whip your balms?
We refrain from whipping our balm products or incorporating water into them.
Whipping introduces air and bacteria, potentially misleading consumers with inflated volume.
Picture a whipped product left on a shelf during summer—it would likely melt, leaving only half the product in the jar.
Instead, we meticulously hand-pour our tallow to preserve its full benefits. We consider whipping an amateur technique employed to conceal the scent of inadequately rendered tallow.
Our commitment lies in revealing the authentic essence of our fresh suet tallow through careful hand-pouring.
Want to adjust your balm's texture?
Achieve your preferred texture by immersing the closed container in warm water. Once melted, remove the lid and let it cool in the refrigerator. This will ensure your balm remains soft and easy to spread. Remember, tallow behaves like many natural fats – solidifying in cold conditions and becoming soft in warmer temperatures. The balm's consistency can vary with temperature changes, especially during winter.
Wondering about storing your tallow soap?
For handcrafted soaps like ours, a raised soap dish works best. Ensure it dries between uses to prolong its life.
Curious about the shelf life of tallow products?
Our tallow is of exceptional quality and has a long shelf life, but it’s best to use our products while they are fresh. We make small batches every week to maintain the highest quality. Since we use regenerative tallow, which is naturally shelf-stable, our products remain fresh without the need for artificial preservatives. For optimal results, we recommend using them within 8-12 weeks after opening.
Is tallow safe for facial use or for children?
Absolutely! Tallow is beneficial for most skin types, even sensitive ones like facial skin. Its composition closely resembles human skin, making it easily absorbable. Rich in essential vitamins such as A, D, K, E, and B12, organic tallow, especially from pasture-raised cattle, works wonders on skin issues like eczema and diaper rashes. Consider it a healthier substitute for mainstream synthetic creams.

Thinking of trimming your tallow candle's wick?
Our tallow-beeswax candles are distinct from regular candles in terms of ingredients and their gentle, prolonged burn. Referred to as 'living candles', wick-trimming is optional based on your preference. For safety, always refer to the warning sticker on the candle's bottom.
We pride ourselves on using Eco wicks, which are not only made from cotton sourced locally from the West Coast but also burn cleanly without any lead.
Before lighting up, ensure your tallow candle burns for about 4 hours, forming a uniform tallow wax pool. Trim the wick as and when necessary and never leave a lit candle unattended.
